The Okanogan Basin Monitoring And Evaluation Project
Coming Soon!! Basin-wide PIT-tag array in the Okanogan River Basin

The Confederated Colville Tribes (CCT) and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) have signed a joint contract to install a basin-wide PIT-tag detection system in the Okanogan River Basin.  The project is funded by the Bonneville Power Administration (statements of work below).  Installation of the system will require collaboration between CCT and WDFW and is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2011.  Concurrently, WDFW will develop standardized methods for analyzing data from the arrays.  The CCT will be involved in the maintenance, upkeep, and troubleshooting of the arrays.  Successful installation coupled with ample PIT-tagging of juveniles and adults will provide estimates of the number and age of outmigrating hatchery and wild steelhead smolts as well as returning adult spawners.  Click on the link below for a prioritized list of installation sites
